The Automobile Club de l’Ouest continues to evolve and reorganise to meet the requirements of its members, partners and spectators in the most efficient way possible. The new organisation will be based on four operating departments.

The Le Mans Development department’s mission will be to reinforce the marketing and sales operations of the ACO for the Le Mans 24 hours, the FIA World Endurance Championship and the other activities on the Le Mans circuits (events, driving courses, training, seminars, karts). The Le Mans Development management will also look after the TV rights. Patrick Maitrot, currently working for Eurosport International, will join the ACO in May as director.

The ‘Esprit Le Mans (Le Mans Spirit)’ will regroup the activities of members, communications, heritage as well as the licensing and marketing of the Automobile Club de l’Ouest. Fabrice Bourrigaud, the current ACO Marketing and Communications Manager, will look after this department.

The ‘Le Mans Resort’ department will be responsible for the welcome of spectators and visitors to the Le Mans site. Its aim will be to develop entertainment/activities to reinforce the attraction of the Le Mans circuits during and outside events. The Direction of the Organisation Services and Infrastructure (DOEI) currently managed by Ghislain Robert will be merged with it with Ghislain Robert remaining in charge.

The Sports Department managed by Vincent Beaumesnil will pursue its current missions concerning racing, track activities, driving schools and training.

This new organisation will be implemented on 1st July 2013.
