sustainable development
Since 1906, the ACO has built its development on robust commitments and solidarity, with innovation placed firmly at the heart of its concerns. The ACO has mapped out its commitments to sustainable development with a three-pronged approach known as “EngageMans”: ENGAGEMANS FOR THE PLANET, ENGAGEMANS FOR A RESPONSIBLE ECONOMY, ENGAGEMANS FOR ALL.

Paprec is the company responsible for waste management at the 24 Hours of Le Mans site all year round.
The shared goal of the ACO and Paprec is to achieve 80% material recovery for the waste generated at the circuit (with only 20% going to energy recovery).
We have installed 2,000 more sorting stations to work towards this goal. There are separate bins for recyclable, organic, and other waste.
In 2024 54% of waste was reused thanks to our collective action.
The ACO encourages caterers to use short supply chains and to increase the proportion of locally-grown food.
On-site restaurant facilities are equipped to host guests with disabilities.
For several years, the ACO has been working with the Restos du Cœur food bank charity to collect surplus food and distribute it to people in need.
