24 Heures Motos - Shows and Entertainment

In addition to the no-holds-barred battle taking place on the Bugatti circuit on 9-10 April in the 24 Heures Motos, spectators at the opening round of the 2016 FIM World Endurance Championship (FIM WEC) can enjoy four days packed with shows and entertainment.

The 39th 24 Heures Motos will rock to the rhythm of numerous festive and convivial events. Don’t miss any of the following!

Thursday 7th to Sunday 10th April

The fun fair
The ever-popular fun fair awaits visitors on the site of the former museum in the heart of the 24-Hours village and the main attractions will be the Boosters Cyber Dome, the Outbreak, Move It without forgetting the coconut shy, punch ball, rodeo and clay-pigeon shoot.
The traditional Big Wheel, which towers 16 metres over the track, will be located not far from there, at the same level as the Restaurant de la Courbe near the concert stage.

From Friday 8th to Sunday 10th April

Lady Bike: Women and motorbikes
The big 2016 innovation will be the space entirely devoted to women in the 24-Heures Motos village!
The motorbike world has seen an upsurge in interest from women, and the increase in the number of female riders is now obvious for all to see. In order to attract this public to motor sport in general and to the 24 Heures Motos in particular, the Automobile Club de l’Ouest has taken on the challenge of coming up with several exclusive dedicated forms of entertainment especially aimed at women. In partnership with Mag Motards, the motorbike magazine for women, the Lady Bike space plus women and motorbikes will highlight the varied and diverse universe of the female approach to bike riding.

An exceptional exhibition devoted to the ACO’s 110th anniversary
On the occasion of its 110th anniversary the ACO will display motorbikes from its collections of unique models with which the general public may not be familiar. Using an innovative presentation this exhibition will retrace the history of these motorbikes, some of which have now disappeared: it will be put on in the Club des Loges in the 24-Heures Motos village that has an unbeatable view from its panoramic terrace.

The PUB with its Jam Sessions by Pression Live and DJ
The PUB opposite the Restaurant de la Courbe is the best place for people to meet up and get to know one another. It will again host its Jam Sessions by Pression Live to the delight of musicians. Pression Live invites spectators who can play a musical instrument to get together and have a fun-packed jam session on a stage equipped with professional instruments.
Later on during the night a DJ will take over and keep the pub jumping to the sounds of his mix.

Friday 8th April

Visit the pits and paddock between 18h30 and 20h00
When the second qualifying session is over spectators can meet and chat with the riders who will be at the start of the race the next day. From a privileged viewpoint, the pit lane, they can admire the bikes as well as the ballet of the mechanics as they work on the machines. Access is at the bottom of the pits straight.

ACO Club members track run at 18h45
A competition reserved for ACO members will allow 40 riders to enjoy an exclusive 2-lap run on the Bugatti circuit on their motorbikes accompanied by Damien Saulnier (Le Mans Sud Suzuki Junior Team manager and monitor of the ACO Driving School, Le Mans Driver), and Louis Rossi, the ACO club’s ambassador.

Motorbike Show at 20h00
Once the spectators’ meeting with the heroes of the race is over they will be able to see a breath-taking, night-time motorbike show put on by DUKE Acrobatie that will last three hours. Access to the grandstands lining the track on which this show will take place is free.
On the programme are non-stop stunts and drifts by internationally famous riders and an Urban Trial Show.
This year’s innovation: the Para Side Racing Team Association will put on an incredible relay demonstration between handicapped and able-bodied riders.
This exceptional motorbike show will swing to the rhythm of the DJ DOM-K’s sets; Don’t miss it!

Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th April

Entertainment in the village
The innovative Air Bike Show based on VTT acrobatics, and the Urban Trial Show already seen the previous day in the motorbike show, will liven up the 24-Heures Motos village. The Pom-Pom girls and dancers will also strut their stuff to the music of the DJ DOM-K who will be back spinning the discs. The different exhibitors in the village will provide themed entertainment in their stalls, and manufacturers will put on spectacular shows.
The entertainment in the space devoted to women, Lady Bike, the motorbike for women, will move and will be open to everybody with a fashion parade to show off the latest trends in motorbike clothing for women.

Saturday 9th April

Disguise competition
For the first time at the 24 Heures Motos a competition for disguises, open to all spectators, will be held. So no time to lose to search for, find or invent a disguise and enjoy the great motorbike festival in an amusing and off-beat fashion!
The final will take place at 18h30. Make your disguises – now!

Air Guitar competition
Another innovation in 2016 is an Air Guitar competition all day Saturday with the final taking place in the evening on the concerts stage.
This invisible guitar competition entails mimicking the gestures of a guitarist playing the great Rock ‘n Roll or Hard Rock classics without the instrument: it’s become a real craze and has attracted a growing number
of fans. This show hosted by Matthieu Guerineau, the Master of Ceremonies at the French Air Guitar Championships, will be a fantastic opportunity to enjoy a good humoured competition and see the best air guitarists doing battle in an off-beat ambience.

Air Moto event
This year the ACO is launching an exclusive competition called Air Moto at the 24 Heures Motos to help promote the event. Thanks to this completely new and never-seen-before operation internet fans, and also the spectators on the spot at the event, can have lots of fun. Whether at home on the couch or at the circuit at the 24 Heures Motos, participants must simulate a motorbike race and put on the best possible performance to try and win the motorbike that’s up for grabs. They will have 30 seconds to show their skills and convince the judges. In the 24-Hours village the “air motards” will play in pairs, and they will follow the curves of the Bugatti circuit on their imaginary bikes with the help of screens placed in front of them. They will wear headsets with integrated microphones so that the crowd can enjoy their talents as imitators, and they will also be filmed.
Between the Air Moto videos posted by the surfers and those filmed on the spot this competition promises to be an absolutely fun one.

On-track entertainment
Between 13h00 and 13h45 a motorbike show will again take place on the track with the same stunt people as on Friday evening.
In addition, the ACO will bend over backwards to concoct a grandiose, moving pre-start ceremony at 13h50 until the the 39th 24 Heures Motos kicks off at 15h00.

Concerts
Following on from the Air Guitar final, at 20h30 two groups and a DJ will take over the 24-Heures Motos stage in the heart of the village opposite the Restaurant de la Courbe. The evening will bathe in a not-to-be-missed Pop-Rock ambience organised in partnership with RTL2 Le Mans, the official radio of the 24 Heures Motos and the Bebop festival.
Last Train: the four guys in Last Train, who have just turned twenty, are following in the footsteps of the great rock groups thanks to their music which switches between rock, pop and blues.
Luke: the rock group from Bordeaux settles a few scores with today’s world by screaming about its current ills using sounds that are as brutal as they are consistent. Discover Luke’s texts, full of protest and darkness, allied to the group’s hard-driving rhythms on the stage at the 24 Heures Motos.
To round off the evening Zebra, the RTL2 POP-ROCK PARTY resident DJ, will get everybody swinging to a fevered-up live rock show and continue the party into the small hours of the morning.

The programme of entertainment for the 24 Heures Motos concocted by the ACO is as vibrant and festive as ever with numerous innovations to make the 39th event THE big festive celebration of the motorbike!
