It will be a tough fight for the favourites at the 24 Hours Moto, the final of the World Endurance Championship. Some come for the race but especially the race for the championship title.

Among the favourites, and currently leader of the World Championship, is the Suzuki Endurance Racing Team (SERT) who seems in good shape. This formidable team, with recent victory at Oschersleben (Germany) conducted an almost perfect weekend. The 19-point lead in the championship, leaving the Suzuki No.1 enough to ensure a position at Le Mans. But Dominique Méliand emblematic SERT team manager, warned during a press conference of the 24 Hours Moto he had every intention of winning this race and it remained a priority for his team.

Winner twice in a row the past two years and with the same crew, bike No.11 SRC Kawasaki is hungry for a third victory. Only participating at Bol d'Or (winner of this year) and the Le Mans 24 Hours, Gilles Stafler's 'greens' "have nothing to lose". They will race for the win, and if victory comes, the trophy of the Le Mans 24 Hours stays with the team (rule applied when a team has three consecutive wins).

Team BMW Motorrad France has in focus the victory at Le Mans. Winner of the 8 Hours of Doha (Qatar), the trio of riders is one of the sharpest of the grid. BMW No.99 is currently second in the world championship results and pays dearly for their poor Bol d'Or result. Michael Bartholemy's men are very experienced and will fight to the end for the victory and the title.

The Honda TT Legend that has the stars of the  Isle of Man Toutist Trophy riding, has had a very steady season. We feel that the team has gained experience. Endurance is a difficult skill that requires a lot of preparation, and this is probably what makes the difference today. Their consistency has earned them equal second place with BMW in the world ranking. Against other favourites the bike is not able to race to win, but could make a first podium? Especially since the Frenchman Mathieu Gines just taken his place as third rider. A perfect knowledge of the Le Mans circuit will be a very big asset for the British team.

Another team in the running for victory in the 24 Hours Moto is Yamaha GMT 94 of Christophe Guyot who has big ambitions. The team had a historic performance at Suzuka (Japan), finishing on the podium. It was followed by another podium recently at Oschersleben. That has given the riders confidence, especially as a member of the trio (Matthew Lagrive) has been recovering since late June, should find the a way to be competitive at Le Mans. The team is currently fourth in the championship, 21 points behind.

Through these teams, there will also be three tyre manufacturers competing; Dunlop (Honda TT Legend and SERT), Michelin (BMW Motorrad France and GMT 94) and Pirelli (SRC Kawasaki).
